YOGA THERAPY

Yoga therapy is a holistic and empowering approach to health and wellbeing that incorporates body, mind and spirit.

 

It makes use of various yoga techniques such as postures (asanas), Breathing Techniques (pranayama), cleansing practices (shatkarma), chanting, mantras, relaxation and meditation as well as general lifestyle to promote health and wellbeing.

You don’t need to have an underlying health condition to benefit from a yoga therapy session. If you are wanting to establish a home yoga practice but don't know where to start, you can use a yoga therapy session to develop a personalised yoga practice that is right for you.    No previous yoga practice experience is required as all practices will be carefully explained and demonstrated.

However, if you do have a specific condition you would like to address, a carefully tailored daily yoga practice can be extremely effective at improving overall strength, flexibility and balance, as well as manage many common problems such as stress, insomnia, fatigue, and chronic pain.

The initial session (1.5 hours) will consist of a detailed consultation and  plan of your individual daily practice for you to take home .  A shorter follow-up session (1 hour) is recommended a couple of weeks after for feedback on  your progress and make adjustments as appropriate.
